as in, when someone thinks of “intellectual”, they tend to think of an ivy league graduate who’s most likely a white cismale and had major/minors dealing with sociology, anthropology, philosophy, and a ton of humanities stuff.

i’ve seen a ton of “intellectuals” who never finished high school. there are “intellectuals” all over the world and only the whitest, richest, masculine-ish gets recognition.

this is why i feel weary reblogging quotes from white cismales about life and philosophy. it took them all this time to find out the system has been screwed even though they’re the main beneficiaries of it. 

i just feel like intelligence in general is very classist (and racist ofc). there’s all sorts of intelligence but their intelligence is somewhat understated from the way they look to what race they are to the way they speak to their education. it’s sad really.
